december daily | notions
I'm not a scrapbooker, but I thought it'd be fun to see what supplies I have around the house that I could use in a December album.
I recently bought a date stamp, which I intended to use for Thanksgiving menus, birthday cards, Project Life and Christmas gift tags. I think it'll definitely make an appearance in the December Daily album. I own two stamp pads, both of which should also come in handy.
These gold stars are gift tags from a few Christmases ago. I love the sheen on them. And who knew that pink and red could feel so festive? I'm really digging the color combo, which was inspired by the packaging for these bobby pins from Kate Spade. Swoon.
Lots of paper, ribbon and assorted notions round out my findings: red and white bakers twine, some plain white gift tags, vellum, graph paper (love that!), all kinds of ribbon (red, gold, mint), black raffia, simple card stock (in white, cream and red), kitchen string, and little kraft paper bags.
I also love the 3x4 inch Project Life cards with rounded corners (I have both plain white and grid cards). Those may come in handy for journaling. And I'm thinking I might include a DVD of all of our holiday photos, which we can tuck into one of our custom CD cases (you can find them HERE).
I also love the look of the 4-inch doilies, which are cropping up all over the place. They're so reminiscent of snowflakes!
So I think I'm set for embellishments and paper. The grand total for new items? $4.50 for some flair badges I treated myself to this week and $12.00 for the chipboard mini-binder. That doesn't include photo printing, but it's not too shabby for a project I think is going to be a really festive addition to our holiday season.
What do you have around the house that inspires your creativity?
Think outside the box and have fun!
