Introducing
Photo Book Kit No. 1
Baby’s First Two Years
When our first son was born, we did it all. We bought the fancy camera, we snapped thousands of photos, and I documented that year in great detail.
Fast-forward a few years, and life looked really different. We had a second child, moved across the country, and that free time evaporated.
Our younger son’s memories were spotty and incomplete.
You haven’t documented your kid(s’) baby years - yet!
You love the look of professionally designed projects but would rather invest in the memories themselves than custom design.
You’re overwhelmed by all the baby photos on your phone and want a checklist, a plan, and some direction to get this done.
Your kids have long since moved past the baby years, but you’d love to get their memories documented anyway!
You value great design but you’re not a designer - you don’t know how to use Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator (and you don’t want to learn!).
You want simple, beautiful, done-for-you designs that you can add to your own photo books, on your own timeline.
This 11-page PDF guide gives you the nuts and bolts of my memory keeping system. It walks you through my simple process for designing your First Two Years baby book. It contains my four key decisions up front, plus step-by-step instructions for putting together your photo book. You’ll get links to additional resources for selecting a photo book printer and narrowing down your photos.
Your Field Guide also includes two helpful worksheets. The Design Index gives you an overview of the unique designs and suggestions for use (keep this handy while you work and check them off as you go!). Plus you’ll get a Project Planner that helps you map out your photo book, track your progress, and keep you moving across the finish line.
Photo Book Kit No. 1 comes with 60 design pages including color blocks you can use as design elements throughout your book, 3 versions of each of the 4 seasons, a title page, multiple quotes, birthday pages, and more. These are high resolution JPEG files sized to 12x12 inches, which fit square photo books and most portrait and landscape books. Many designs come in more than one color option, so feel free to use one kit for multiple kids!
Choose one of three colorways for your kit (or purchase more than one!). Each colorway is sold separately. All three colorways are gender neutral and contain the same designs.
The images below show just 25 of the 60 design pages you’ll receive in your kit.
Easy and breezy. Malibu features a deep coral, light shell pink, sky blue, and lots of white space.
A nod to nautical. Newport shares the same sky blue and adds a deep royal blue, tan, and grey.
An homage to one of our favorite places, Tahoe features rich charcoal, deep sienna, grey & tan.
Custom designed projects are beautiful but expensive.
Photo books with auto-uploads from social media don’t tell the whole story.
Pocket pages, scrapbooks, and the like require creativity and time you may not have.
Memory-keeping can be overwhelming, and you need a minimal process plus designs.
Designs are beautiful, minimal, with multiple versions to make a project your own.
Design pages are pre-designed jpeg files you use just like you would a photo.
No additional editing or design needed. You don’t need Photoshop, Canva, or Illustrator.
When combined with your photos, one Photo Book Kit tells a complete story.
The Kit works with any photo book, so choose one that fits your needs, style, and budget.
Photo Book Kits offer the look and feel of custom design at a tiny fraction of the price.
Your Photo Book Kit comes with a PDF Field Guide that walks you through your baby book project, step-by-step. Fill out the Project Plan worksheet to map out your photo book.
Comb your archives and select photos from your kiddo’s first two years. The Field Guide will help break your project into sections, so your photos coordinate with the designs.
Upload your photos and the design pages from your kit to any photo book website. Drag and drop the design pages to divide the years into seasons, add style, and tell your story.
Well… not really. These are high resolution, flattened JPEG files, so they can’t be altered.
However, I wanted to offer a way for you to personalize your project using the same fonts, colors, and aesthetic of your Photo Book Kit.
Four versions of your baby’s full name (all within your chosen colorway). Use these in your photo book, print them on an invitation, hang in their room - they make the perfect title page for your child’s baby book.
This can be the birth story, adoption story, or any story you want to tell. You could write the story of what your “baby” is like today, even if it’s years later! Design constraints limit the word count to 300 (character count limited to 1500). Include this page opposite “The Story of You,” “The First Two Years,” or their name.
Submit up to five growth “stats” from the first two years. You’ll send me up to five ages and include things like length, weight, and percentiles (if you want). Your pediatrician should be able to print these if you’re missing them. Put this growth chart next to a collage of photos or the “Growing Growing Gone” page from your Kit.
Submit baby’s weight, length, date, time of birth, and even the location of their birth (city and state, city and country, or name of the hospital). I’ll lay out all the stats on a simple page you can include in your book. It’s a lovely addition to those first photos after they were born.
(and 4 versions of each for a total of 16 designs)
The fine print: Custom pages do not include the Photo Book Kit, which will have to be purchased separately. I’ll send you an email with a link to a Google form after you submit your order. Once you fill it out, your custom pages will be emailed to you within 10 business days (or less!).
Purchase and download Photo Book Kit No. 1 | The First Two Years. Optional: add a set of custom pages for a more custom photo book.
Use the Field Guide to plan your baby book and select your photos.
Upload the pictures and the design pages included in your Kit to the photo book printer of your choice.
Arrange your photos and design pages in the order you like and send your project to print!
