anniversary art
When I saw that Elise Cripe was going to release this poster as the May edition of her make29 project, I knew I wanted to give it to Nick for our anniversary this week. My brother-in-law always gets my sister something for their anniversaries that goes with either the traditional or modern gift associated with that year.
I have another friend who alternates years with her husband; every other year one of them plans the celebration. I love those traditions, but they aren't ours. We usually don't do big gifts for anniversaries, but we always acknowledge them with a little something.
We had a empty wall in our bedroom where I thought this print could go, and the sentiment seemed just right. I love it even more now that it's up. I haven't framed it yet, but it completely changes that wall. Actually, I might even go so far as to say that it changes the feel of the room as a whole.
What a great reminder it will be. As good as life has been to us, we haven't seen anything yet because the best is yet to come.
We don't have any specific anniversary traditions, but I kind of wish we did! Next year will be ten for us. Maybe I'll institute something then. How do you celebrate anniversaries?
