project life | fun with washi

Our little one's first birthday is rapidly approaching (eek!) and I've been working on his baby album over the last few weeks. Last summer, I discovered Project Life, a simple (but brilliant) memory-keeping system developed by Becky Higgins. I've never scrapbooked in the traditional sense, but I really wanted to design a beautiful baby book for Ben's first year. So I'm doing a layout for each week. Most weeks, there's lots to include: journal entries, little mementos, milestones and photos. But some weeks are really heavy on the photos.

For the week of January 30th, I included just three journal cards and lots of pictures. Here's a shot of the full layout.

I wanted to make the journal cards a little special, so I printed them on card stock from Paper Source (the color is "paper bag") and added silver polka dot washi tape accents.

I'm so happy with how the album is coming along, and I'm loving the process of designing, finding inspiration from Becky's creative team, editing photos and deciding what to include. Most of all, I have enjoyed reliving what has been one of the best years of our lives!

Project Life is created by Becky Higgins and can be found HERE. 4x6 photo masks designed by Liz Tamanaha can be found HERE. Card stock is from Paper Source. Silver washi tape can be purchased on Amazon. Photos edited using Radlab.
